Call to Arms

What does it truly mean to be a Christian in America today? This message cuts straight to the heart of that question, drawing on some of the most powerful passages in Scripture to issue a bold call to action. Beginning in Joshua 1, we are reminded three times in just a handful of verses that we are commanded to be strong and courageous, and twice assured that God is with us and will not forsake us. From there, the message moves through the story of Gideon in Judges 6 and the legendary confrontation between David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17, where a young man ran toward a giant that an entire army had been too afraid to face for forty days. These are not just ancient stories. They are a mirror held up to our moment in history. The giants are real, the taunting is real, and the command to run toward them rather than away from them is just as binding on us today as it was on David. The spiritual lesson is clear: God has not changed, his promises have not changed, and his expectation that his people will stand with courage has not changed either.
