God's Word is the Standard
This message confronts us with a powerful truth that many of us have heard for years but perhaps haven't fully embraced: God's Word must become our absolute standard for living. Drawing from 1 Timothy 4 and 2 Timothy 4, we're reminded that we live in the latter days when many will depart from true faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons. The challenge isn't just about avoiding obvious sins—it's about the subtle ways we allow 'casual Christianity' to diminish our standards. We're called to be a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, people who proclaim God's praises and stand firm on biblical truth even when culture pressures us to compromise. The enemy doesn't attack us personally; he attacks the truth of God's Word in our lives. When we face trials, pressures in our marriages, challenges with our families, or temptations in our workplaces, our response must always be the same: 'It is written.' This isn't about perfection—we're all works in progress—but it's about making a deliberate decision that God's Word will have first place in every area of our lives. The process of living godly begins when we stop treating the Bible as a book of suggestions and start treating it as our life manual, our foundation, our standard for everything we do.
