Being a Doer of the Word Part 2

What does it actually mean to walk in truth? In this message, we dig into one of the most practical and challenging calls in Scripture: being doers of the Word, not hearers only. Drawing from 3 John, James chapter 1, and the words of Jesus himself in Matthew 7 and Luke 6, we are confronted with a straightforward truth that many of us have quietly avoided. Hearing the Word of God, no matter how many times or how faithfully, does not by itself change our lives, our marriages, our families, or our habits. It is only when we act on what we hear that the Word begins to produce real, lasting fruit. James warns us that hearing without doing leads to self-deception, and Jesus compares the person who hears but does not act to a builder who throws up a house on bare ground with no foundation. When the storms hit, and they will hit, that house collapses. The storms are not the problem. The missing foundation is. This message calls us to examine honestly whether we have been building on solid rock or simply collecting good memories of sermons we once heard.
