Rebooting Your Mindset

Mar 8, 2026    Senior Pastor John Guillory

This powerful teaching centers on a truth that can revolutionize our entire Christian walk: the battle for our minds determines the outcome of our lives. Drawing from Romans 12:1-2, we're challenged to understand that transformation doesn't come from simply attending church or hearing good messages, but from actively renewing our minds to align with God's Word. The message uses the compelling analogy of rebooting a computer system—when our thinking patterns become contaminated with worldly perspectives, we must dump the old programming and install new software based on Scripture. What makes this particularly relevant is the honest acknowledgment that many believers struggle with the same issues year after year—depression, fear, wrong behaviors, and unfulfilled promises—simply because they've never addressed the root issue: their thought patterns. The teaching emphasizes that God created us to live in true righteousness and holiness, and through Christ, that original plan has been restored. However, accessing this abundant life requires our active participation in renewing our minds. As Proverbs 23:7 reminds us, as we think in our hearts, so we are. This isn't about gaining more knowledge; it's about applying what we know until it transforms how we think, which then transforms how we live. The invitation is clear: if we want different results in our lives, we must be willing to do the work of mental reformation.
